Key Stage 3

In year 7 we introduce the students to German and the main vocabulary needed for everyday interactions.  We look at the foundations of German grammar, including the full conjugation of the verbs haben and sein, and introduce ideas such as gender, verb conjugation, present tense and adjectival agreement. We look at simple opinions to enable students to express themselves confidently.  By the end of the year, we expect students to be able to write about 90 words in the target language, read a range of short texts on the topics covered, and become more proficient in listening and speaking German.
