The second half saw Richard Lander come back strongly, scoring 2 goals to leave looking to hold on to a slender lead.

A fantastic defensive effort saw maintain their lead, to avenge the final defeat they suffered against the same opponents in Year 7. The win marks an incredible record of 2 years unbeaten and only 1 defeat in 3 years in the same competition for the side.

To advance to the county final, the boys put in an excellent performance in the East Cornwall Championship final, beating a very strong Wadebridge team 3-1, with goals from Kieran O’Melia (2) and Leighton Poolman.

This victory follows the side’s success in the U13 tournament last year, where they secured a 2-1 win over West Cornwall Champions Mounts Bay Academy in a very exciting final.

Mr. Budd, who has coached the team for the past three years, was extremely proud of them.

“To win back to back titles is a huge achievement and no easy task with the high standard of schools’ football in Cornwall, with some very strong sides in the county.  Their sustained success is a real testament to the boys’ commitment and ability,” he said.
