was delighted to take part in the May Fair fun recently, with staff and students running a stall at the event.

Students attending the Fair were encouraged to, ‘Settle a beef here’, with the opportunity to sponge a teacher for just 50p! Staff members Miss Sayer, Mr. Howgate, Ms Rogers, Mr. Payne and Mr. Taylor were among the staff victims of a sponging, all in the name of community fun. The fantastically designed ‘stocks’ were created by Head of Art Mr. Romain, who himself managed to avoid a sponging.

The stall also held a lucky dip and sold cakes baked by staff, as well as freshly made popcorn, created by Mr. Taylor on the morning of the Fair.

Mr. Taylor, who organised the stall, was delighted with how the school reached out to the community.

“This year’s May Fair proved to be a community event in the truest sense of the word, with involvement from staff (who baked cakes, were sponged by the public) and students who, proudly wearing their school uniform, gave up an entire day to represent With over £140 raised and a Year 7 claiming to feel more confident than ever after helping out for the day, this really was a successful event!” he said.
