Last week the terrorist attacks that took place in France were not only targeting Charlie Hebdo, the French Jewish community or even France as a nation; they were also designed to threaten freedom of speech and the right that we all have to express ourselves.

Many of our students were given the opportunity to discuss the tragic events either with their tutors or their teachers. They were also reminded of the importance of our school’s core values during their assemblies last week, and given an opportunity to reflect on the importance of us all being responsible global citizens.

Our thoughts are with the French nation, and especially with the families of all those who lost their lives.
