On 28th April, celebrated the Cornwall International Male Choral Festival.

As part of the celebrations, the school was visited by The Phoenix Choir of Wales, an all-male choir group who were touring Cornwall, performing at a number of venues around the county.

The Phoenix Choir performed a number of modern and traditional Welsh songs, including Sospan Fach, which Choir leader Rob Elliot taught to the students in attendance.

Before the Phoenix Choir performed, the student choir sang two songs; ‘Once We Were Kings’ from recent school production Billy Elliot and ‘Seasons of Love’ from Rent the Musical. was also visited by our friends from Bishop Cornish Primary School, whose incredible performance brought the crowd to its feet. They performed a song inspired by William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet, complete with story-telling actions to accompany.

Our students thoroughly enjoyed the event, with many students desperate to have their photo taken in the Phoenix Choir #selfieframe.
