The annual GCSE presentation evening at community school was made all the more special this year as a result of the Guest of Honour being none other than the Captain of the Great Britain wheelchair rugby team and Paralympian, Steve Brown.

Steve joined teachers, governors, families and friends to help congratulate the Class of 2014 on their excellent achievements in their GCSEs and vocational courses last summer.

Welcoming everyone to the event, headteacher Mrs Bryce, praised the students, not just for their academic success, but also for the way in which they had so consistently upheld the values of the school.

Steve Brown’s inspirational speech encouraged all present to keep going, even in the face of adversity and to always strive to be the best that you can be – whether in your career or in your personal life, especially in your day to day relationships with people you meet and with whom you interact.

Musical items were given by Alex Hunt, Joe Day and Tom Raymond Jones all now in Year 12 at The vote of thanks was given by Jasmine Donovan and Paul Gerry, both also in Year 12.
