Hate Crime Awareness for all of Year 8
We once again invited local police officers in to deliver awareness sessions for all of our students in Year 8, all students were able to listen and understand about what a hate crime is, what the consequences of committing a hate crime is and how it makes others feel. Students also had the opportunity to engage in a task to understand what it is like to be a refugee and to have to flee a country.
Our sessions were delivered in line with National Hate Crime Awareness Week and as always our students demonstrated our key values as a school, especially the ability to be empathetic. Our students listened, engaged and asked super questions, clearly showing tolerance and tenacity.
