In the capital this weekend there are expected to be 35,000 runners taking part in the annual and world famous London Marathon. This year however, it will feature a young man from our very own community school.

Dan Budd, ex student of and currently PE Technician, has been training for the global event for months and shortly all this hard work will come to fruition when he gets to complete the 26 mile run. This intense preparation however didn’t stop him from taking time out to pose in his attire with 8WP, one of the many form groups supporting Dan’s efforts.

“26.2 miles through our capital in one of the world’s most famous races, as you can imagine, I’m pretty excited!” said Dan. “I have decided to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth at the same time as chasing my personal goals.  You can follow the race on the BBC – I aim to finish in around 3 hours and 5 minutes – but no complaints if I take 3 hours 6!”

Sponsorship for Dan can be made by way of the following link:

All donations will help his chosen charity and also his spirits as he treks across the capital.
