The annual year 7 Carol Concert took place on the last day of the Autumn Term, Friday 18th December, in St Stephen’s Church which was packed to capacity with all 240 year 7 students along with their family and friends.

Organised by the school’s Performing Arts department under the leadership of Mrs Emily Venner, the concert provided an excellent opportunity for all present to really get into the Christmas spirit, especially with everyone singing the congregational carols.

Year 7 sang two items as a whole year group: Away in a Manger and Stille Nacht, which they had learnt in German during the Autumn Term. In addition, year 7 tutor group, 7SP, sang a rousing African hymn which they had learnt when the Pearl of Africa children’s choir visited in November.

Other musical items were provided by the GCSE and A Level music students, including an item by the school’s singing group ‘Limitless’.

There were also a number of Christmas themed readings, some of which had been taken from the Christmas Poetry anthology which had been put together by students from Landulph Primary and

A retiring collection was taken in support of the Performing Arts department; monies will aid future school productions.
