Training for this year’s Ten Tors competition commenced in October with 11 students venturing out onto the moors, following news that saltash.net had secured two team places for next May’s final Ten Tors competition. Two 15 kilometre warm up walks were completed in testing conditions over Bodmin and North Dartmoor. More intense and challenging training is scheduled over the forthcoming months. Staff members, Graham Drewery, Gareth Jones and Kirsty Newberry, together with the students, all observed the minute’s silence on Remembrance Sunday during their 2nd expedition.

Mr Drewery praised all students taking part, commenting on their enthusiasm and the way they have been able to draw on past experience through such schemes as The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Enrichment Week expeditions.
