saltash.net community school was thrilled and delighted to learn it was to be the recipient of the national award for outstanding GCSE results 2013, presented by the Partners in Excellence organisation.  Assistant Headteacher and Raising Standards Leader, Kasim Langmead, travelled to London on Wednesday 9th October to collect the award on behalf of everyone at the school from the Partners in Excellence leader, Sir John Rowling.

After a number of re-marks, saltash.net’s overall A*-C figure including English and Maths now stands at 70%, with English gaining 80% A*-C and Maths 76% A*-C grades.

Speaking after receiving the award, Mr Langmead said, “I am so pleased that the collective hard work of students, staff and parents here at saltash.net has been recognised nationally in this way.  After all of the headlines and turmoil surrounding GCSEs this year, to achieve our best ever results is a testament to the focus, resilience and dedication of these people.
