There are advantages for registering for Free School Meals and saltash.net community school would like all our parents and carers to take advantage of the help on offer to enable us to provide the best possible opportunities to your children.

Research shows that children perform better at school when they eat well either at break or lunchtime. School food has to meet high nutritional standards which guarantee children a healthy, balanced menu.

With a school meal now costing £2.20 a day this totals £418.00 in an academic year, a benefit worth having and an opportunity to reduce your food costs at home.

For each pupil registered for Free School Meals the school receives funding of £900.00 which will cover not only the provision of school meals but will provide extra support to enhance and further your children’s learning and wellbeing.
